Face-Framing Highlights

Which detail of the front hair section do you want to change?

Face-framing highlights are chosen when you want to color specifically the front section of your hair. During the consultation, it’s important to show which strands you mean: those on either side of the parting, on the sides, near the temples, or blending into bangs. The phrase “around the face” alone does not define the exact area to be colored.

Describe the desired effect: a subtle color change or a clearly visible contrast. In a sample photo, show the width of the strand and where the lighter color begins. Also specify if you like the shade itself or just its placement. These are separate choices best clarified before booking the coloring.

Usual parting and bangs

Show the specialist how you normally part your hair. If you often change the side of your parting, mention that too. Discuss the desired look in both ways that matter to you, not only based on a photo where hair is styled one way. This makes it easier to agree on where you want the color accent daily.

If you have bangs, specify whether you want them included in the colored area. If you plan to cut face-framing strands at the same time, mention this before choosing the scope of service. Combine color and length preferences in one conversation so each is understood as a part of the overall look.

Width and blending into the rest of the hair

Ask to see the proposed strand width on each side. Discuss whether you want a sharp edge or a softer blend into the base color. If you prefer an uneven, asymmetrical arrangement, state it clearly; the specialist shouldn’t guess based on the style name alone.

Compare the front section to the rest of your hair length. If the back hair is already highlighted, show the current color and say whether you want to keep it. Clarify if the new accent should repeat the existing tone or consciously differ. It’s important to decide this before discussing price alone.

How do you want to look with your hair tied back?

If you often wear a ponytail or bun, show this look during the consultation. Indicate if you want the color accent only when your hair is down or also visible when tied by the temples. This helps discuss zone boundaries without changing the assumed full-head coloring scope. Hair wearing habits here are more useful than universal face shape rules.

Also show the current color of the front strands and talk about previous lightening and coloring. If you don’t know exactly what procedure was done, don’t guess the name: say what you remember and let the specialist assess the situation. Discuss the exact result and proposed method individually.

Check what your booking includes

Ask whether the chosen service covers both front zones, toning, and final styling. If you want additional strands on the crown or nape, specify them separately. Look for partial highlighting in the Beautlix hair service list or check with the salon the appropriate time to book for your selected area. After consultation, it must be clear what will be done and how price will be determined.
