Day Makeup
Day makeup is a service name whose scope is worth clarifying before booking. Some people prefer just a few subtle accents, others want more vibrant lips or eye lines. The time of day does not dictate a required color intensity: the main reference point is your desired appearance.
How much coverage do you want?
Show whether you want to leave clearly visible freckles and a natural skin appearance, or prefer more even color coverage. Different areas of the face can be discussed individually. The request for “light makeup” does not necessarily explain both the desired look and feel equally well, so it’s good to specify both.
Tell which finish you like: matte, radiant, or something in between. If previous makeup looked too powdery or shiny, show an example and explain what you would like to change. Makeup style does not promise to completely erase visible skin texture.
Eye, eyebrow, and lip accents
Discuss if you want eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, or only some of these elements. Tell how you usually define your eyebrows and if you want to change their visible contour. Highlight specific details you like in photos, because the whole look may not match your everyday choice.
Choose lip color and finish separately. If you plan to eat, attend meetings, or be on the go during the day, ask what would be convenient for you to refresh yourself. The service name alone does not guarantee that all makeup parts will stay intact until evening.
Your daily habits
Tell if you wear glasses, usually barely wear makeup, or want to keep your usual lip shade. Bring the glasses you will wear after the visit. This way, you can assess the overall look instead of judging only parts of the makeup.
If there are products you do not want to use, name them in advance. Also mention any previous undesirable reactions before starting. Communication helps to agree on the work, but the artist’s promise or subtle style is not a guarantee of individual product tolerance.
Preparation and booking
Ask how to come and whether removing existing makeup is included in the appointment. Agree in advance on the final price and the time when you need to be ready. If you want additional elements or separate hair styling, discuss who will do them and how much time is allocated.
Get preparation instructions from the specific artist. Ordering day makeup alone does not mean new skin procedures or buying new products are necessary before. Clarify what the already reserved visit includes.
At the end of the visit
Examine the whole face and individual accents. Say if you want softer lines or a different lip color. Ask to explain how to make planned corrections and how to remove specifically used products later. Write down the lip shade you liked if you want to repeat it.
