Creative Makeup
Creative makeup can be a single unusual accent or a broader composition of colors, lines, and decorative details. It’s easier to plan the service with a clear idea and several specific examples. Before booking, agree on which part of the face will be decorated and the desired result.
Idea and Visual Examples
Choose a main example, drawing, or color combination. Explain which details are essential and where the artist can offer their interpretation. Numerous different photos do not always clearly convey the desire, so it’s useful to highlight one main direction.
Specify if the makeup is for a photoshoot, performance, thematic event, or personal project. Discuss from what distance and in which frames it will be visible. This helps agree on the scale of composition but does not create one mandatory style for all occasions.
Face Zones and Additional Elements
Show where you want colors or lines: around the eyes, on the cheeks, lips, or other designated places. If the idea includes the neck, shoulders, or body, mention this separately. Face makeup booking does not automatically include decorating larger body areas.
If the example includes glued details, lashes, or other elements, discuss each one. Ask who will provide them, how they will be used, and how they are removed. Also specify details you do not want, even if shown in the chosen photo.
Product Purpose Is More Important Than Effect
The FDA recommends not decorating the face with materials not intended for skin and following product instructions. A product designed for skin may not be suitable around the eyes. Therefore, do not implement artistic ideas using paints not intended for skin; discuss with the artist the specific cosmetic products’ purposes and use areas.
Inform about previous adverse reactions and materials you wish to avoid. The name ‘creative makeup’ or professional execution does not guarantee individual tolerance. If the intended effect cannot be achieved with appropriate products, discuss another visual solution.
Time, Price, and Changes
Confirm the overall composition before booking. Ask if the price includes sketch, materials, additional elements, and corrections. Indicate when you need to be ready and discuss if the artist must stay at the event or photoshoot.
If the idea changes, notify in advance. Additional areas, new details, or a different look can alter the workload. Coordinate preparations and outfit according to the agreed plan to avoid improvisation once makeup has started.
Plan Removal in Advance
The FDA advises removing makeup and glued elements according to product instructions and gently cleaning the eye area. Ask before the visit what products will be needed. A creative composition should not remain without a clear removal plan simply because it was created by a specialist.
